Greetings!! Growing up on a hobby farm, I learned about raising pigs, growing and selling sweet corn and other vegetables, and had the ability to develop my hard work ethic. I was involved in agriculture classes, 4-H, and FFA, among many other activities. Upon graduating from St. James High School in 2000, I went to the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities for Pre-Veterinary Medicine, where I soon switched my major to Agricultural Education. I had the opportunity to student teach at Brainerd's School Farm and graduated from the U of M in 2004. Since then, I have been the ag instructor and FFA Advisor here at Paynesville and enjoy the diversity of classes, teachable moments, inquisitive students, and wonderful staff. It has also been fun getting to see the growth, successes, working with students, community members, and learning how to incorporate more technology into the classes. Growing the ag program has been a passion of mine as students in grades 6-12 can be in agriculture classes. Whether I am teaching about animals one hour, putting floral arrangements together another hour, welding, and preparing food in other hours, every class of every day is a new adventure. Besides working as an ag teacher and FFA Advisor, I love sharing my life with my husband Corey and our daughter and son on our 80 acre hobby farm.
